OUR HISTORY
Sodrox Chemicals Ltd. was founded in 1984 by its current owners, Tom Jarvis and Dave Ballantyne, who brought with them over thirty years of experience in the chemical distribution industry. The company’s original product list consisted of a single commodity, Sodium Hydroxide, hence the name Sodrox.
From our facility in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, we traveled to Hamilton Ontario to deliver to our first customer. That first delivery was made with a leased tanker-trailer and tractor driven by the vice-president. Today, our company drivers travel throughout Ontario, Eastern Quebec, and the Northeastern United States in company-owned tractors and tankers that are government certified.
Over the past 30 years, the Sodrox family has grown to over 40 employees, and the product line has increased to 12 commodities, 3 proprietary custom-blended products for the metal-finishing industry, and the plant now includes a custom-blending and packaging facility.
And now, 30 years later, we still make regular deliveries to our original customer in Hamilton.
